Fact: Learning to play a brass instrument is not easy and takes time and patience

So why bother ???

Traditionally the UK has a very strong tradition of producing some of the top brass bands in the world, such as The Fodens band and The Black Dyke Band. Learning to play brass opens access to instruments of a wide variety from a small cornet to a large tuba. In addition to being able to play in a brass band, players can also choose to play a variety of musical styles such as orchestral, jazz, swing and big band music amongst others. Musical abitility is also examined at GCSE and A-Level, and a good musical grounding can make these examinations considerably easier.

The Denton Brass Training Band is an environment for new players to learn music. We have a mixed “Family” group of musicians at the moment of different ages, (9-65) and abilities

We welcome anyone who has the inclination to play a brass instrument from the ages of 9 to 80 at any level, to come along and have a go!
