Following the departure of Mr Graham Smith as Musical Director at the start of July 2009, the band have been searching for a new Musical Director.

Following many auditions over several months, the band had not found a suitable replacement. After rushing our decision to appoint an M.D. Last year, the committee were determined that they would find the correct person this time round, there were many very good applicants, however there was something about each that did not suit the band.

Then out of the blue our own Principal Cornet Player Mr Colin Myers said that he would like to take the position as M.D. AS Colin had been taking many rehearsals over the last few months it was felt that no formal audition was required.

After a discussion with the band, the committee formally asked Colin if he would take the band.  Colin agreed and the band are now looking forward to working with him
